HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 1001
(By Delegates Riggs and Warner)
Requesting the Governor to work with all involved entities
and to take all necessary steps to promote the goal of returning
West Virginia to being the state among all the states of the
United States to produce the most coal.
Whereas, The State of West Virginia has in the past led all
of the states in the United States in coal production; and
Whereas, There are bountiful coal reserves within the
boundaries of the State of West Virginia; and
Whereas, The people of the State of West Virginia are an
industrious and courageous working population; and
Whereas, It serves the interests of the State of West
Virginia and all the citizens of the State of West Virginia to
once again become the state which produces the most coal of any
state in the United States; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That our Governor is requested to work with all involved
entities and take all necessary steps to promote the goal of
making West Virginia the largest coal-producing state in the
United States; and, be it
Further Resolved,
That the Clerk of the House of Delegates
is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to theGovernor of the State of West Virginia.
